Last Night :: Every Night :: Tomorrow Night

stupid subway chick

2001-06-10

Coloring, but asked dad to redo it so I could start over. He got out tracing paper. It was a picture of a woman.

I went to Subway, and the woman working there seemed new. She put on lots of vegetables without asking me, and I was fine with that until she got to the jalapenos. Then she was going to put some crab on, even after I said no. "Just a little." I said bluntly that I didn't eat meat, and she said, "Okay," with sort of a shrug, then put it on the board next to the sandwich. She didn't change her gloves before putting more vegetables on and I felt slightly sick. The tomatoes looked wilted.

She gave me some chips, Fritos, that I didn't want, and when she rang me up, it came to $10.03 -- way too much. I hadn't expected it to be over $10, but I didn't say anything, just paid, with a ten dollar bill and a one.

I went to sit down. Jess was sitting at a table near me. Then a man who worked there started calling out names.

He called Ursula, and I knew that was reference to my sister. I tried to get her attention by calling "Ursula... hey, Urs... Jess!"

She looked at the man, and looked confused and uncomfortable. "Um, we just came here for a nap," she said.

I went over to her table. She told me maybe it was about the hotel paying for lunches, but then she shook her head and said she didn't know what it was about. I told the man who'd called for Ursula.
